Is there anyone who can provide me the exact location of the serial/identifi cation number in the model (type open body 1926)framework? ?
Besides the normal serial nunmber location, above the engine water inlet, you can sometimes find a number stamped on the upper side of the right frame rail, just under the floorboard area.
The second picture is what it looks like on the late T frame, the factory and breach's began stamping the engine number on the frame rails sometime late Dec 1925. So an early Improved Car, made before Dec '25 may not have the frame stamped also. The frames were stamped up to end of production.
The factory stamped the same number on the engine, but many times the motor would be changed and the shop wouldn't re-stamp the bare block with the original engine number, so you find Ts today that may not have the original motor. But at least the late T's could be identified as they have the the frame stamped too.
Be sure to look carefully as many times rust has covered over the stamped numerals, you may have to wire brush the area back to bare metal to see the stamping, as sometimes its fairly faint.

would it be safe to assume that replacement frames also had no serial number stamped on them? I have a 26 Tudor and no number is stamped, at least none that I could see even with the paint removed.
I think so too. Frame assemblies or parts of the side rail frame came without the motor number for sure. Only when the factory or branch put the car together with the stamped motor in the frame was the frame stamped.
You may have an early '26 which is why its frame is unstamped. My guess is cars and trucks with motor numbers after 12,900,000 or so would have frame stamps.
Hi , i have an old frame , i have no idea what it is. I think it is from the 40s. Where would i find the serial number.
