I am working on the headlamps on my 26 Roadster. The old headlight sockets seemed to be rusted into bushings in the headlight buckets. I can order new sockets but cant seem to find out where to get these bushings. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I think what Bill M. is asking about is the part of the headlight bucket that the socket slides into. I just dealt with removing a stubborn socket by soaking it with Kroil, then supporting the flat area at the back of the bucket where the "bushing" sticks out and gently pushing the socket deeper into the bucket (so it moves toward the back of the bucket). Once it moves in one direction, it should be able to be pressed in the other direction (has to come out the front -- the adjusting screw tab won't let it come out the back). If you have a bucket that has lost the "bushing" you'll have to locate some steel tubing with the correct I.D. & O.D. and find a way to weld it into the bucket as the original was. Sometimes it's easier to find another bucket.
