I have what I think are connecting rod bearings that I was told were for a Model T or Model A Ford. Does anyone recoginize these part numbers?

1. Clawson & Bals Inc
Part# S-5985
.030 undersize

2. Clawson & Bals Inc.
Part# S-5987
.030 undersize

3. Clawson & Bals Inc.
Part# S-4086
.020 undersize

They are new and in original boxes. I have access to more of them. Are they of any use?

Thanks, Don

Model T and Model A bearings were poured babbit (cast in place in the rods and mains). What you describe sound like insert style bearings which became more common in the late '30's and eventually replaced the old technology for the most part.

While I doubt these are of any use to Model T or A people, that doesn't mean they aren't of value to later model car collectors. The trick in this case is to find information on the part numbers to see what make of car or truck they fit.
