A few years ago, about 2006, I was in Bosie, Idaho and saw a 1926-27 Model T body with letters and numbers stamped in the same spot on the body as our Model (Well, most of them anyway).
Is it true or false that the Model T's also had assembly plant codes? Such as AS2468 (which is for the Seattle (AS), WA Ford Assembly Plant).
If you have a Model T in original state, would you please check the body subfloor metal cross sill for which the front seat risor is riveted to for any sign of letters and numbers?
A lot of time they were stamped just behind the heel of your feet when sitting in the drivers seat BUT could be anywhere on that sill.
Next time I am down in the Bosie area, I will have to look at that body again...actuall y I think it was in Caldwell, Idaho.
Thanks.

There is some information that indicates that at least some later bodies were stamped with a plant assembly code such as you're asking about. I think the fellow who has the most information on the subject is Hap Tucker who typically posts on the MTFCA Forum site.
