Taking 1919 centerdoor out of winter storage and it won't go in reverse?
TIA for any ideas.
Bill
pull floor, inspection cover and see what happens when you mash the reverse pedal with the car in neutral and engine running.
not a good idea to start the engine with the transmission inspection cover off. It causes a real mess......oil everywhere.
Actually, I have started my T with the trans inspection cover removed. If you don't have the throttle open past an idle setting, it makes surprisingly little mess. Also a real education on just how much oil moves around in there. A LOT! But, except for a few drops it stays inside the engine.
Still, I would advise Mr Deering to check his reverse band adjustment, with the cover removed of course, and if adjustments were needed, to test it with the cover in place.
A temporary Plexiglas inspection plate makes it easier to clean up.
