By Jerry VanOoteghem on Monday, May 24, 2010 - 4:10 pm:Actually, I have started my T with the trans inspection cover removed. If you don't have the throttle open past an idle setting, it makes surprisingly little mess. Also a real education on just how much oil moves around in there. A LOT! But, except for a few drops it stays inside the engine.
Still, I would advise Mr Deering to check his reverse band adjustment, with the cover removed of course, and if adjustments were needed, to test it with the cover in place.
