Just recieved returning participant form for the Old Car Festival at Greenfield Village - The Henry Ford. I have attended this for over 15 years but may skip it this year. The Henry Ford has decided to require a $25 registration fee this year. Since its inception (over fifty years ago} this has always been free for participants.
This has been one of nicest car shows for along time for both participants and visitors. I just wonder why they would do this for those that help make this show what it is.
If I don't take my T, I will still probably go because I have a Family pass and live in Dearborn only a mile or so away from the Village.
Tom
Lighten up. The Village is suffering from the economy and needs the funds. I too am a member of the Friends and have been for 40 years. I will gladly pay the $25 or even $50 to attend the finest car show in the country.
Jon raises some real good points. It is actually surprising that this has been a free event for so long. Please remember that you actually receive a lot for your participation - ribbons, free admission for multiple people and discounts.
Twenty-five dollars seems quite reasonable to me.

I have no problem paying only $25. I pay more then that to attend shows as a spectator let alone an exhibitor. If you can't afford these low prices then you can't afford the car. Last year we bought a 23 Willys Knight just to participate in the show and had a blast with the whole family. It's still a bargain!
We attend the OCF as well (this will be our third year) The OCF registration comes with 4 admission passes, which retail at $22 (+/-)each. While I understand your frustration at the sudden costs, given all the frills that come with the registration, it still feels as if we're all getting a great deal. I hope you will continue to participate in and enjoy the show.
Hope to see many of you at the Old Car Festival. I'll be in the black Ford. ;-)
Hi Tom - We'll be there also, and in a black Ford.
Just to clarify this, ours is a '14 Touring and I generally park with Bud DeLong.
Hope to see you there too.
Keith
I'll be there in a black ford too.
